First, according to the value of classification

There are many kinds of medical consumables, their specifications are complex, and their prices vary widely. 1. Low-value consumables refer to sanitary materials (such as infusion sets, syringes and dressings) with a relatively low unit price that do not need to be implanted or inserted into the human body. Such consumables are in great demand and widely used in various departments. The cost of low-value consumables in tertiary general hospitals accounts for about 1/3 of the total cost of consumables.

2. High-value consumables refer to sanitary materials that have a relatively high unit price or need to be implanted or inserted into the human body, including vascular intervention, orthopedic implantation, neurosurgery, electrophysiology, pacemaker, etc. Most of this kind of consumables are specialized materials, and the cost of medium-high value consumables in tertiary general hospitals accounts for about 2/3 of the total cost of consumables. Second, according to the different uses of medical consumables in clinical medical activities, they can be divided into 7 categories

3. Classification according to characteristics

In the daily management of medical consumables, it can be classified according to their different characteristics.

1. Can consumables be implanted into human body? It can be divided into implanted consumables and non-implanted consumables.

2. Consumables can be divided into domestic consumables and imported consumables according to production area;

3. According to whether the specifications can be determined before operation, the consumables can be divided into stock management consumables and customized consumables (for example, the required specifications and models of bone plates, bone nails and other consumables can only be determined during operation);
